From: Science Enquiries

Dear Karen,
You will have to apply for a transfer after you have completed one year of study with RMIT. Science at Monash accepts transferring students and applications should be lodged with VTAC. Past university academic achievements will be taken into consideration. Students should have at least a credit (60%) average before applying. Students may be given credit for prior learning, this will be done on a case by case basis. Students MUST meet the prerequisites for the course they are applying for as stated in VTAC guide.
Regards
Cindy
Please hope for me my friends! I will do my best to achieve the marks needed to transfer to Monash University. This maybe the last step or the final opportunity that will lead me to my desired course and institution. This information is definitely a small piece of comfort and reassurance as for now. I have to climb over this mountain first.

Auditory Illusions – Free Holophonic Sounds

**Please use your headphones for full effect.

Listen to these holophonic auditory illusions using headphones. You might also want to try closing your eyes. The way the audio was recorded creates the effect of being in a 3D environment. The sounds seem to be coming from all different direction.

Try out the virtual haircut

This is a demonstration of the stereo effect. Listening to it, you feel as though you are in a barber’s chair, with the barber moving around you, clipping away at your hair. As the barber “moves” to your right, the volume increases slightly in the right channel and decreases in the left. Similarly, increases in the volume of sound from the clippers give the impression that he is bringing them closer and closer to each ear. The illusion demonstrates our ability to locate sounds in space; by comparing the inputs to the two ears, we can work out where a sound is coming from.

December Boys

"Just remember Misty, no matter what, you're still a December Boy" - Maps

Film: December Boys
Language: English
Genre: Drama, Romance

I feel the need to write a 1000 word essay for this film. December Boys is the type of movie that would be played in high school classrooms for English or Literature.  Just as “Look Both Ways”, December Boys is an Australian movie brilliantly illustrating the vast beauty of our coastal shores. The power of religion, hope, ambition, family and delinquency is explored throughout the film with warm hearted characters, each have gone through despair and anguish. I particularly enjoyed Daniel Radcliffe’s acting in December Boys. Instead of constantly referring him as the iconic Harry Potter, I wish to respect him more as an actor in other various roles such as the unlikely lieutenant hero in “My Boy Jack”. Here in December Boys, he plays “Maps” raised in a Catholic all boys orphanage with daily strict routines. It is when night, he breaks the rules along with the other boys by smoking, drinking and examining pornographic images. He befriends an adventurous girl named Lucy and she begins to relieve his inexperience’s in lust and like. Displaying a cute shy smile being around a girl for the first time, Radcliffe as Maps was charming. I believe that the book and film should be studied in Australian High Schools! There are so many prompts brewing in my head right now.

Dear Head,

You still can't say that you're genuinely happy with everything at the moment. Incompleteness brings uncertainty and this frustrates you. Weights are still on even though 2010 has ended. You very well have learnt your lessons from the past year and is ready to apply them.

High head, let's recall what Yunho said for the state of DBSK:

"We need to climb mountains but also descend them. Once we reach the pinnacle of one mountain, we realize there are even higher ones to mount. For that reason, we need to go down to the bottom and climb up to the top again. That day, when the two of us stood on the SM TOWN stage, we found the mountain that we needed to climb. Even if it's one step by one step, we need to steadily move towards the future."

Tell me, where are you on the mountain now? You've completed high school and compared to other mountains, is quite a small feature in your life. Your parents and family have celebrated your finished achievements.  Completion means you're at the bottom again and with your will, is ready to strive for the higher ones. Each obstacle that you cross should allow your past experiences in play. Karen, know that things will unpredictably happen and at these times, you will have to adjust your choices for the best. You're going to take a step back in order to take two steps forward. There's nothing wrong with this concept, giving up is when you've truly failed. I don't want you to dwell on unfinished business for long, do you remember when you would come home happy and stay that way on your own without letting all the doubts get to you again? It's time to realize once again the little things that make life extraordinary, not constantly the ones which dishearten you. Let Yunho's message be yours for this year.

You're growing up Karen. If your 8 year old self ever met you, I'm very sure you'll make her proud.

Regards,
Heart.

Anata wo Wasurenai (26 Years Diary)

Film: Anata wo Wasurenai (26 Years Diary)
Language: Korean and Japanese
Genre: Biopic, Romance, Tragedy

The storyline was too slow for me. I wasn't very appealed at the biopic and decided to fast forward the events until reaching the meeting between the two lovers. Even at that stage, I did not continue to view properly due to tiredness or just simply becoming uninterested. Although, I did sympathize greatly towards the Korean student's sincerity. The willingness to save a man's life rather than to live the rest of his with the person he loves, no doubt proves himself as a modern Good Samairitan.

Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru (Heavenly Forest)

It was the only kiss, the love i have ever known.Shizuru

Film: Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru (Heavenly Forest)
Language: Japanese
Genre: Romance

I applaud this movie for it's brilliance in camera techniques and character portrayal. Both protagonists were absolutely adorable for their innocence in love. As for the decency of camera shots; it is until when Shizuru takes off her glasses for the first time, the audience is offered a full close up view of her beautiful and sweet face. We are amazed just as Makoto. The timing has been done very effectively; both were brought straight away into the storyline without any signs of rush.  The film has not explored closely at Shizuru's hospitalization which is different to me since most movies I've seen revolve around the confinement of an illness. Instead, Heavenly Forest has taught audiences to take the time to appreciate the beauty of nature and humans in life and in photography. I am left with a tinge of happiness about the strength of love rather than the sadness of departure at the end of Heavenly Forest.

WGM’s Yonghwa and Seohyun go on their 200th-day date

by VITALSIGN

The ‘YongSeo Couple’ of MBC’s “We Got Married” went on a ’school uniform date’ in celebration of their 200th day as a couple.
In the episode, CNBlue’s Jung Yonghwa and SNSD’s Seohyun successfully complete their first couple-duet stage and hold a 200th day celebration party. Hilariously, husband Jung Yonghwa insists on making it a memorable one by wearing school uniforms for their date.
According to the producers, the two enjoyed a simple outing until Jung Yonghwa brought out a three-set present for Seohyun. The presents were said to have been specially prepared for his wife, who will soon be leaving to promote with SNSD in Japan.
