F

I’m Freddie and I met a girl I like today. She’s like…beautiful.

Sweat once a day.

Cardio exercise (40 minutes)
Jogging 5 - 6km/hr on the treadmill
27/2/12 Average distance: 3.5km

Core strength training (20 minutes)
Zumba Fitness Work out

1 hr a day
for 20 days

and I'm still going.

Previously, I (along with the rest of the world) believed the way to become skinny at a rapid rate was to starve. I would eat less and ignore the hunger pains by sleeping it off. After that I'll crave even more and ultimately binge. I felt disgusted at my actions and regretted every bite I took. I thought to myself "Who would want to look at you like this?" So what did I do again? Starve. If you were thin, you'd always have it better in life. Thin. Thin. Thin. Thin. Thin. There was no satisfaction to this emotionally and physically damaging method of "weight loss".

My uncle gave me a couple of Zumba exercise videos one weekend and told me in just a week, his abdominal muscles were starting to strengthen. One of the videos lasted for about 20 minutes, pretty easy and quick right? That 20 minutes of video was in fact so painful my stomach became sore the next day. I hadn't done any regular exercise since Year 11 so my body must of went into shock! I couldn't use this tool alone. You need more than just 20 minutes a day to see results, so I decided to combine core strength training with cardio to keep my heart rate up. I took a step onto the treadmill I had neglected for the past two years and boy, I never knew how much I could push myself to. Each day I became stronger, always   pushing myself to do a little extra more each time. Whether it's a few more calories burnt or metres ran than the last session, I continued to build up endurance. I was sweating like a pig. I looked as if I had just given birth to walrus and you know what? It felt so damn good. To me, a day without a cold shower is a day wasted

70% of your abs are made in the kitchen: I'm starting to swap my meal choices with something healthy instead. I don't necessarily feel ashamed of myself when I eat now. There are times when I've fallen, but hey we all have our bad days. It's not the end of the world! Don't always punish yourself! Slow progress is still progress.

After 20 days, I've never seen my obliques quite defined before. It's actually pretty amazing! They're not rock hard toned sexy, yet something is there; and it's mine. I'll keep working. I'll keep going. I'm not blessed with a naturally small unchangeable figure, but at least I'm happy and on my way to a healthier me. Being thin is overrated. Being healthy is being strong.

Good girls don't eat?

That's bullshit.

Beastly - Alex Flinn

"A beautiful thing is precious, no matter the price.
Those who do not know how to see the precious things in life
 will never be happy."

I haven't read a novel since The Secret River since Year 12 (sorry for making you cringe) and I finished Beastly by Alex Flinn in two nights. It was an easy and enjoyable read. I applause this modern re-telling of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. You've suddenly incorporated the childhood Disney animation into your mind am I correct? Whilst holding that familiar and nostalgic feeling (feelings that Disney never fails to create), I'm pleased that the author has included references from other Beauty and the Beast versions that most people wouldn't have come across. Since I've also watched the film adaptation produced one year after the release of the novel, the two types of portrayal are very loosely simulated. Then again, it's Hollywood my dear. I'd also wish for more development on Adrian's longing for Lindy. Overall, the Beastly ride has been an exquisite one for me. Something I need more in my life I say. In this day and age, we are obsessed with our outer appearance. Despite the pressures of society and the media, we ourselves can determine what's desirable and what's ugly, but one thing will always remain beautiful - Love. Love is never ugly.

Liebster Blog Award

From the very quick Google search, the origins of the Liebster Blog Award are unclear, but it is a German word for"darling" or "beloved." It is given to bloggers who have less than 200 hundred followers, allowing for lesser known blogs to be appreciated and recognised.
- Beau Desordre

I must thank you Sophie for giving me this award. I began using blogspot at the beginning of my final year in high school just a couple of months after Sophie had started hers. Some days were good, some were not so good and I am so glad to have spent this time alongside Sophie in person and in blog form. Each posts of ours signifies growth, we're always learning together and finding our stand in this complicated yet wondrous world. I'm really thankful for Sophie to have let me into her inner mind, a place where often others do not see. Blogspot has become quite a special place for us, it's constantly treasuring the past - the thoughts that have built us to live another day. Thank you Sophie. Here is her blogspot: http://beau-desordre.blogspot.com.au/

The Rules:
1. Thank the Liebster who awarded me.
2. Link back to their blog.
3. Copy and paste award on my blog.
4. Reveal my top 5 Liebster blogs.
5. Let them know you chose them by leaving a comment on their blog.

Top 5 Liebster blogs:

I can only list down one blog that I wish to nominate for the Liebster award! Bambi, KisforKathy and Sophie have already been given the award! Congratulations little one and thank you for blogging.

A refreshing post.

Looks. Amazing.

You know what else is amazing?
Chilled Santa Vittoria sparkling mineral water.

Gone.

No more being careful with what I do around you, no more waiting for you to "change" and no more looking back. You're the one who screwed up everything. I'm done hurting myself trying to fix whatever we had and the bullshit you've put me through. No more expectations and no more disappointments. I've fucking had it.

You're a manipulative bastard.
Goodbye.
