I wish he knew

  • How he's the first guy that I trust.
  • He's the first guy that I've hugged.
  • He's the one who gave me the definition of "Friday nights"
  • He makes my heart jump out of my chest when he's near.
  • He makes me teary when I haven't seen nor spoken to him in weeks
  • How pathetic he makes me feel
  • How much I worry for him
  • How long replies turned to short replies are crushing me
  • How I like the way he has to bend down to talk to me
  • How he finds me in crowded places
  • How I find him in crowded places
  • That his voice is so soothing
  • How he never rolls down his sleeves
  • How he's the first person to give me butterflies
  • Because of him, I knew the feeling of hurt
  • Because of him, I knew the feeling of disappointment
  • How I hate that he's on pre-paid
  • How much I'd love to tell him something random throughout the day, but I won't in fear that I'll be a bother to him
  • How he's the perfect height
  • How cute he is when he still eats regardless of being full
  • How much he's scaring me
  • How I hate every goodbye
  • How I get jittery with every new conversation
  • How thankful I am to meet him again
  • How I like the way he teaches me or shows me something
  • How I question myself everyday whether I should hold on or let go
  • I still remember the first day we met again
  • How close I am to just grabbing his hand.
  • How he caught me staring
  • How he can read my face
  • How my friends act so cheekily around us
  • How I have the songs that he's sent to me on my Ipod
  • How he makes me feel safe
  • How all these feelings are bottling up inside of me
  • He's an idiot
  • How I hover around his name online
  • How he's an unpleasant winner

  • How freaking important he is to me, and I'll have to move mountains to let him know.

The 8th day of the month

Woke up at exactly 6:30am from my Skins ringtone alarm on my phone. I hated rising before the sun. I spent another good fifteen minutes in bed, which now meant that I will be possibly fifteen minutes late for the train. I finally scrambled out of bed and started the day.

"Guess who's back?" I was so happy to see a text from Lan! I will be seeing her later in the day after her one month trip in Vietnam.

Instead of arriving for the 7:30am train to uni, I arrived at 7:45am - what was expected due to my laziness. I turned around and to my surprise, saw him swiping his Myki before saying hello to me! To be honest, I did get a bit teary. All these thoughts and feelings were flooding back. I haven't spoken nor seen him in three weeks and this is how hopeless I get. We trained together along with Jason to the city. Seeing him this morning, has left me with a natural buzz for the rest of the day.

My Mathematics & Statistics lecture finished at 9:30am with a two hour break before my Chemistry lecture. My uni friends decided to walk up and down MC for lunch. I walked up to the crossing lights and slipped! Landed on my butt in the middle of the city streets in front of everyone. My shoes don't have grip at all! Winnie helped me up whilst Sahan was stunned, but he did offer his sympathies. Luckily I fell during the red light, otherwise cars would have been moving and my butt won't be the only thing that hurt. Thanks for taking care of me Winnie & Sahan! especially the free Starbucks from Sahan!

Bumped into Chuon, Andrew & Tyronne at MC! I haven't seen Chuon in ages so I asked if he was coming along to meet up with Lan later. I was disappointed when he said he wasn't too sure due to his timetable. Apparently I also ignored Andrew's hello. I did wave to him and he looked at me, so I assumed he had acknowledged my greeting!

Chemistry lecture ended at 1:30pm and I was finally free for the day! Waited under the clock for Lan and saw Anna walking past. She is embarrassed to see me in public so I ran over and pushed her around. We went to Valley Girl for a few minutes before I headed back to the clock.

I was getting hungry and started to get comfortable under the clock by eating my lunch. Chuon surprised me and we waited under the clock together. He had only a few minutes to spare before returning to his very important lecture. I didn't want him to leave without seeing Lan! I bumped into Amanda too!

Lan and Michael arrived five minutes later after he left. We were disappointed, more so when Stephinee became busy with sudden demands. Luke came to do some shirt shopping with Michael. We walked up to QV together, before Michael left for his lectures leaving Lan and I together.

We decided to catch up at Max Brenner's. I ordered a Hot Chocolate Hug Mug and it was very hard to finish! Lan showed me all the cute things she had bought from Vietnam. Feeling a little more aggressive and active with the amount of sugar I've consumed, it was time to head home.

Lan and I sat on the train in front of one the student's I recognized from my lecture classes. Stephinee had gotten on our train at Caufield and I stood up waving to her as she squeezed past the passengers. She sat down next to the student from my lectures.

This was when the weirdest fate / destiny / coincidence / small world thing happened. The "My Sassy Girl" moment:

The student was actually a friend of Stephinee. He was the one guy she's been trying to introduce to me since Year 9. The infamous Matthew - and he's been in all my lectures since day 1. Stephinee has been selling this boy to me for four years and I never knew we were actually so close in proximity! A few weeks ago, I even told Stephinee that "I wouldn't mind meeting him one day." We never spoke a word to each other until now. I assured that I will say hello to him next time.

Walked home from a long, tiring yet eventful day - the life of a uni student. Tonight I shall study up for my Mathematics Lab test tomorrow and hopefully complete my Physiology exercises.

Goodnight!

Falling

If you looked at our year 2 class photo, he’s standing at the top row. I’m standing in the front row because for once in my life, I wasn’t the shortest in the class. In year 4, we were working on a group project on the floor. I was sitting near the heater and a small rodent ran behind me. I quickly crawled to your side and you scolded me for being scared. You lost my tennis ball in year 6. A few weeks later, you walk into my class in front of everyone and handed me a new ball.

...
More than a decade later and I find myself sitting patiently at the train station for you. You’re only a few minutes late and my heart starts to beat a little faster. This is my first time spending a couple of hours with you absolutely alone. I can’t be shy and I can’t hide from you today. I stand in front of the validate machine watching the train leave from the station. You call out my name; I turn around, smiled and inserted my ticket into the machine. I was already grateful for you just being there, knowing that you’d made time for us to catch up. I walked over to your side and kind of gawked at your new hair cut. It’s shorter! I say guys with shorter hair looks cleaner and neater.
We stood on the train wondering where we should go. I pulled out my phone to call Sophia. Ghastly voicemail! I stare hopelessly at my phone and you ask
“Was Sophia supposed to come?”
“No. Um…She can’t make it because she had a doctor’s appointment, Um. No. wait. Yeah, doctor’s.” I stammered keeping my head low.
Sophia calls back to say that she’s slept in and missed her appointment. That’s not good! She suggested really good “date” places to go to – Cinemas, Eureka Skydeck, the beach, Melbourne Uni… We finally agreed on a relaxing walk to Crown. It was the perfect weather for walking and exploring…even though you do have a habit of walking extremely slow!
You sat down next to an empty spot. My caution levels sky rocket so I decided to sit across you instead. Not too close at all. Oh and that was a very odd moment when I waited outside the station while you ran around inside trying to get your Myki to work. The sun was out, but it was still chilly in the city so we walked most of the time with our arms crossed trying to keep warm.
Then these dangerous never before thoughts came into my mind. What if I released my folded arms for a while? What if my hands became tempted to reach out for yours?
We stopped by a magic street performer in front of the pier. You asked me if I wanted to stay and watch, I said yes knowing that when you were a child you wanted to be a magician. The magician was very entertaining whilst manipulating our minds to see all his illusions. His appearance was simple. Standing behind a small table, coins and cards started to appear out of the blue. For his finale, he threw three cups to the audience to test out his reliability.
“To the man with the positive looking attitude”
He throws one of the cups to you. You checked it and handed over the cup to me. After I pressed the inside of the cup, you threw it back to the magician. The magician asks for your name and where you came from.
“I live here!” you replied.
“Well, get a roof!” he says pointing to the sky.
You lead me inside Crown. As usual, I am stunned at Crown’s appearance. Everything looked so precious and fragile, let alone very expensive. You already ate so I was the only one who bought lunch. One thing I’ve noticed when we walk through crowds is that I always arrive out of them first. You’re only a few steps behind me before we’d continue to walk. Sitting along the pier, I was too into my food to view the murky waters. Seagulls flocked around. I’m not sharing my food with them.
“Look, the birds missed you since you kept feeding them last time.”
“They were hungry…”
Aw, you’re so adorable to consider their well-being. I am delusional. We talked about our high school years. Ever since year 6, we had stopped all contact until I wished my first Merry Christmas to you in 2009. It was also my first time saying Happy Birthday to you last year too.
We reminisced about how we became friends with the people we’re with today, the sports we used to play, the teachers we use to have together and basically anything about us growing up since primary school. I feel as if I’ve gotten to know you more now. We weren’t there during high school, but now we do have some insight of what went on. You even told me you went through a rebellious stage. I didn’t know you had six ear piercings. Not strange at all considering I have zero.
A lady handed me a voucher to spend at a Japanese clothing store.
“This voucher will expire on the 30th October” I read out.
“Hey! That’s the day after my birthday!”
“Oh yeah, the 29th. Haha do you remember mine?”
“No. I don’t remember birthdays except for ____, _____, and _____ who were all born on the same day on July 9th. Or was it the 10th? Uh oh.”
Your memory is horrible. It is true that you remember complex processes, but fail to do so with simple things.
*Flashback*
“Did you go to Asean?” You asked.
“No. I was at home, TALKING TO YOU LAST NIGHT.”
Oh my gosh the pet store! You walked straight pass the puppies and kittens to the….goldfishes. There was a white puppy tied up in the store so anyone could pick it up or pat it. The little puppy walked over and started to bite my shoelaces! It was the cutest thing, but I could hear the store owners telling it to stop. I lifted up the puppy’s chin to direct it’s face away from my shoelaces and from that point on, I was in love with it!
I went over to your side to see your eyes glued to the tank. Leaving you to your fascination, I went back to the little puppy of joy that cost $700…I can so imagine you being a turtle person. You’d be 100 and still be holding a turtle in your hand or, that old guy who feeds birds – cause that’s your thing.
I always learn something new from you. The rails along Melbourne Central Station aren’t only for leaning, they’re for sitting too! In a blink of an eye, you've managed to sit yourself on two bars of steel. I tried to get on, but I kept slipping so I did push ups instead. I may not be as maneuvered as you, but I could exercise when waiting for the train!
To be honest, I was hoping that guy sitting next to you would get off so I can take his place. I let you play on my Ipod so you leaned in front of me so I could see the screen but upside down. You cupped my Ipod in your hands and when I would help you play the game, the train was jolty and I accidently poked your palm. The man got off and I scrambled to your side. I remember I did stare blankly at you for a split second before recollecting my words.
“Do you want to get a silicon cover or a hard case cover like mine?”
Why did I pause?
“…Silicon”
Your bus was arriving so I ushered you by tapping you lightly on the back.
“Go.”
We said our goodbyes and I watched you sprint away from me.

...
What if, I ran after you? What if I ran into your arms as you waited in line and told you not to go?

The University Life.

Professor "Cueball" - Inorganic Chemistry
The most adorable lecturer.
10.3.11

Professor Nugent - Cell Structure & Function
16.3.11
After Cell Structure & Function at RMIT, I took the tram down to The University of Melbourne at 12:15pm.

MY DOMO KUN PENCIL CASE - 1 - 2pm Chemistry at The University of Melbourne
Waited for Sophia for about 20 minutes near the tram stop in front of the Asia Center. Where were you? Without a phone, I had no other option but to rely solely on trust. I didn't know which place you were going to come out from. There were 10 more minutes left to go and I started to walk down to the Berry Building and waited for you at the JH Theatre.

It's amazing that I actually found the place! Waited..waited..for you...no phone at all.

Idol showed up at the building with long red marks under his eyes caused by the suction of his safety glasses. While he stood there rubbing his eyes, everyone was going into the building! He offered to call but had no credit. I said "HER PHONE IS BROKEN. WE HAVE TO RELY ON TRUST."

No Sophia, I did not sit with him. I sat in front of him and his friends and saved a seat for you. Dude, your tables slide in front of you! My tables slide from the right hand side of the seat. I watched every student come in through the door. I really thought, maybe she's dead? The police will check your chat logs and they'll be knocking on my door.
Pulled out my Plant Structure & Function notes and revised for the whole hour. Maybe you were sitting at the back? I saw Francis come in late into the lecture and had to sit on the floor. It's bizzare for you to miss out on Chemistry.

*Lecturer shows a star shaped molecule*

Idol: Hey Jason, it's Starmie!

Kid is so adorable. I started to imagine if you were still at the tram waiting for me, but it wouldn't be right. We agreed that I would go into the lecture and save you a seat. At the end of the lecture, I didn't know how to fold up the table. I was knocking and pulling on the table until the nice girl next to me showed me how to pack it away.

I think she knew that I don't even go here. When everyone was drawing molecules,  I was reading up on leaves. When everyone turned the page and made that paper flipping sound, I was highlighting my notes.

Caught up with Francis and took the tram to MC together. She and Idol will be my witnesses for today.

Today was fail whale. It's okay though, these things happen! TRY AGAIN NEXT TIME.

Idol: Are you going to wait for her still?
K: No, Sophia will have Prac now. I want to go into Prac with her!
Idol: You can't go in there :|

I still want to go into Prac Sophia!!!!

Gatsby

k: You look less kid with hair up (Y)
Compliments to your hairdresser.

s: More mature?

k: That's correct...I think?
Yes, no, maybe...You just look more adorable that night, but of course I can' t say that. In fact, I can't say anything at all to you. Out of thousands of people in the crowd, I had the most unfortunate event of meeting you.

s: Really now? I prefer longer hair cause short hair makes me feel exposed.
k: You're just not used to it. Don't you like the feel of the wind?
s: I like the wind with longer hair too. Feels like its from anime.

"hug virginity"

030710 1:30AM: it lasts for more than one second; there is no distance between the two humans, thus transferring body heat creating a warm and comforting sensation. sleeping is also optional.

hi-5 sophia*

ps. is it me, or does that sound very wrong now? o.o
